I Had No Idea This Could Happen So Fast?!

We continue to remind you to water your Christmas Trees during the Holiday’s but you may kind of shrug off HOW IMPORTANT it really is!

A tree can drink up to a gallon, yes a GALLON of water a day!!

So it is best to water in the morning, and a night.

Never leave the lights on when you are not home, and make sure NO lights are frayed in any location.

And sadly, a real tree cannot go up super early, as soon as a large amount of needles drop, the tree is headed for deads-ville, no matter how much you keep watering.

This video shows the time difference between a Dry Tree and a Watered Tree being ignited, and it’s actually TERRIFYING!

Stay Safe!

Does Your Age Determine Your Favourite Christmas Movie?

Everyone has a favorite Christmas movie. Me? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. But did you know your favorite Christmas movies can tell your age? A company called Christmas Lights Etc. did a survey asking people about their favorite Christmas movies, and then they broke it down by age group, and at least for me, it’s pretty spot on.

Here are the favorite movies by age group:

  • 60 plus
    • Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
    • It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
    • White Christmas (1954)
  • 50 to 59
    • It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
    • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)
    • A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
  • 40 to 49
    • A Christmas Story (1983)
    • A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
    • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
  • 30 to 39
    • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
    • Home Alone (1990)
    • Elf (2003)
  • 30 and under
    • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (I assumed this was the Jim Carrey version but they didn’t specify)
    • A Christmas Story (1983)
    • Home Alone (1990)

So how about it? Do your favorite Christmas movies line up with your age?

The Best Way to Sell a Clunker

The Best Way to Sell a Clunker

That’s one way to sell a used car.

A California filmmaker decided to help his girlfriend sell her used 1996 Honda Accord by doing what he does best, shooting a professional commercial. Overhead drone shots, voice-overs and a little editing has not only helped the video go viral, but also helped with it’s original purpose, selling the car.

The original post on Kijiji for the vehicle was for $499, but after the success of the video, the latest bid on the car stands at over $100,000.

Maybe it isn’t worth it, but the video certainly did it’s job, and then some.

How Would You Like To Sleep In A Lego House?

Lego is having a sleepover at its newly-opened Lego House in Denmark.

The Danish toy company has teamed up with Airbnb to allow one family to stay the night at its new attraction — a 12,000 square-meter (129,167 square-foot) building filled with 25 million colorful plastic bricks.

There’s a parents’ bedroom that features a Lego cat, slippers, a coffee pot, and even a newspaper made from the bricks. In the children’s bedroom there’s a Lego teddy bear, lamp and story book. Towering above the child’s bed is a six-meter (20-foot) tall Lego brick waterfall, surrounded by a seemingly bottomless pool of — you guessed it — Lego bricks.

We Could See The Northern Lights This Week!

We Could See The Northern Lights This Week!

This would be cool! We could possibly be seeing the Northern Lights aka Aurora Borealis dance across the skies this week!

A minor geomagnetic storm watch has been issued for today, with a moderate watch overnight.  I know its calling for rain in the overnight and in the morning, but it looks like things are going to clear up by tomorrow afternoon and evening.  So maybe… just maybe the stars will align and we’ll get lucky

Again, best way to see the northern lights is with clear skies and away from city lights!

Fall Bucket List Item!

I haven't had a Bucket List in years, but I think I may start a new one just to put this on the list! I LOVE Halloween and if you are anything like me, this could be right up your alley...Pumpkinferno is in Upper Canada Village and is a 1-km Path that takes you through a  village made of 7,000 glowing pumpkins!!

There are several points of interest along the path. Jack, an iconic pumpkin-headed scarecrow, makes a return this year, and will keep an eye on you during your walk. You'll enter the village via a welcome bridge decorated with multiple lit jack o'lanterns. Inside the village, all of the exhibits will light up your way.

Big Recall Could Affect You

Big Recall Could Affect You

Fiat Chrysler is recalling almost half a million Ram heavy-duty pickups and medium-duty trucks because their water pumps could be defective, about 46,000 of which are in Canada.

The recall involves Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups and Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs from the 2013 to 2017 model years. All 494,417 of the vehicles involved have 6.7-litre engines.

Most of the trucks were sold in the U.S., but 46,220 are in Canada and 4,485 are in other markets.

Fiat Chrysler says a water pump bearing can overheat under certain conditions, potentially leading to an engine fire.

The company isn't aware of any injuries or accidents related to the defect. It no longer uses the type of water pump involved in the recall.

Fiat Chrysler will notify customers and dealers will fix or replace the water pumps for free.
