Around 9:30 Friday morning,Niagara Regional Police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at Happy Market Convenience Store at 48 Main Street East in Port Colborne. The investigation determined a male suspect entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money from a female employee. The suspect proceeded to flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen getting into a vehicle and going in an east bound direction. There were no physical injuries as a result of the incident. Around 2:30 Friday afternoon, detectives located the suspect vehicle in Welland. The vehicle was followed by police for a short period of time before it pulled into a parking lot and stopped. Police took the suspect into custody while the vehicle was stopped. 21 year old Brady Plante of Thorold has been charged with robbery.
