Niagara Falls City Council has approved amendments to the city’s official plan to permit a new 77 storey project at the corner of Robinson Street and Allendale Avenue. City staff did not support the changes, noting the building is above the 30-storey maximum for the area, while expressing concerns regarding wind, shadow and the number of parking spaces included in the plan. Council, however, approved the development with certain conditions. The project, proposed by Fudzi International Group, calls for 962 residential dwelling units and 516 square metres of commercial floor, and is being described as the “tallest residential condo building in Canada”.
