Car insurance premiums in Niagara are set to increase this spring, with provincewide rates going up by an average of 12 percent.
Niagara communities will see increases ranging from six to 18 percent due to factors such as slower supply chains, newer vehicle complexity, inflation, and typical factors like age, vehicle type, and postal code.
Recent data from Rates.ca showed that Niagara Falls and Fort Erie premiums increased 18 percent to $1,560, Thorold, Welland, and Port Colborne premiums increased 10 percent to $1,463, and St. Catharines premiums increased six percent to $1,410.
