CAA Niagara, along with the OPP and the MTO, conducted a roadside campaign to raise awareness about the Move Over law.
The law requires drivers to slow down and move over to the next lane when passing a tow truck or emergency vehicle on the highway.
The campaign took place on the QEW in Vineland, where only 30% of passing vehicles actually complied with the law.
Over a three-hour period, they stopped 55 vehicles and provided information about the law and its penalties.
Continuing the campaign on the 406 in Welland, 58% of vehicles slowed down and moved over, but this could be attributed to the visible presence of police officers.
