Walker Industries seeks input from Niagara residents on its plan to expand the south landfill near the Thorold border in Niagara Falls.
The company’s $50-million project to capture landfill gas has reached its final stages.
The proposed expansion, located south of Mountain Road and east of Taylor Road, aims to create 20 additional years of landfill space, generate jobs, and produce renewable energy for around 10,000 homes.
A public open house at Club Italia on Dec. 14 allows community participation in the planning process.
