An idea from Florida could be a great deterrent for thieves in Ontario.
Constable Steven Duguay with the Ontario Provincial Police is encouraging residents to try something called the 9:00pm Routine.
The idea is you set an alarm on your phone at 9:00pm and go through a small checklist like making sure your vehicles are locked up with valuables out of site, the front lights are on, and the garage door is closed.
It is easy to forget one of these items during a busy day, and this nightly reminder could help prevent would-be thieves from targeting your property.
