Students from across the region are taking part in the DSBN skills competitions this week.
Yesterday, the carpentry competition was held at Castle Building Centre on Highway 20, which included a team and individual competition.
Lead Teacher for SHSM at A.N Myer Secondary School Paul Grummett says it’s encouraging to see so many young people interested in the trades.
Owner of Castle Building Centre Kevin Boliburck says it was a pleasure to host the competition, as it’s a great way to get involved with the next generation of home builders.
350 students from the region are competing in challenges in everything from precision machining to floristry and 2D character animation to carpentry, culinary arts, plumbing, robotics, welding and more.
