A former Niagara IceDogs captain made his NHL debut last night.
Akil Thomas, who played for the IceDogs for parts of four seasons, made his debut with the LA Kings last night in Winnipeg against the Jets. Thomas logged 3:42 of ice time in his debut, finishing the game with 3 hits in his limited ice time.
The 24-year-old forward has 43 points (22 goals, 21 assists) in 61 games this season with the King’s AHL affiliate the Ontario Reign. Thomas was a second-round pick (No. 51) by Los Angeles at the 2018 NHL Draft.
