Continuing the trend for many months now, May was warmer than normal for most of the province.
Environment Canada reports temperatures for the month were highest toward the east and south of the province and lowest in the northwest.
The strongest warmth was seen during the third and into the fourth weeks, except in the northwest and Far North. During the last week, cooler air briefly crossed the province. In Niagara, May’s mean temperature was 2.7 higher degrees Celsius than average.
