Over 1000 student athletes took part in the DSBN’s Special Olympics yesterday at Welland’s Centennial Secondary School.
This year marks 19 years for the event in Niagara, which has seen it grow from just a few events, to over a dozen for students to take part in.
A new addition this year included an obstacle course designed by local Grade 8 students, which saw a number of submissions from schools across Niagara that were eventually voted on before one was brought to life.
