The Liquor Control Board of Ontario announced on Sunday that it has abandoned its plan to open 32 stores for limited in-store shopping due to the ongoing strike.
Initially, the LCBO had proposed opening some stores three days a week if the strike lasted more than two weeks. However, in a reversal on Sunday, the board stated that it will now prioritize its resources towards catering to bars, restaurants, and other businesses.
The strike, which began on July 5th, involves LCBO workers represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.
