Walk A Mile In HER Shoes returning October 19th

The 18th annual Walk a Mile in HER Shoes event will be returning to the Pen Centre on October 19th.

The event each year sees men walking through the mall with high heels on, to raise money for Gillian’s Place. The Niagara Region has declared Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) an epidemic due to the increasing rates of domestic homicides (femicide). Since the last Walk a Mile in HER Shoes, over 54 femicides have occurred in Ontario, including seven femicides in Niagara since November 2022.

This year’s fundraising goal is $125,000, while organizers are also holding a 50/50 fundraiser this year. You can create your fundraising team, or donate to an existing team, at the event’s website.
