A youth from Hamilton has been charged in connection to a stabbing in Niagara Falls.
Niagara Regional Police say on New Year’s Eve around 8:30pm, officers were called to the area of Victoria Avenue and Centre Street, where a 38-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds.
Police say an investigation determined that the suspect, a 17-year-old, was driving a vehicle with the male victim and his 6-year-old daughter in the back seat.
A verbal argument between the suspect and victim resulted in a physical confrontation outside the vehicle, which is when the stabbing happened. The 6-year-old then exited the back seat, and the suspect entered the driver seat and fled the scene.
The teen has been charged with aggravated assault, while the victim was brought to an out-of-region hospital in critical condition.
