The Town of Fort Erie is continuing its push for local health services to meet the needs of the community.
Last week, Mayor Wayne Redekop and town council attended a Niagara Health Board Meeting, urging support for the Fort Erie Urgent Care Centre beyond the opening of the new South Niagara Hospital in 2028.
Redekop says without it, they fear emergency rooms and EMS will be overwhelmed. Niagara Health has committed to further discussions on the Urgent Care Centre and future use of Douglas Memorial Hospital.
