One person was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after a fire broke out in a single-storey home in St. Catharines last night.
Firefighters responded around 6 pm to a house fire at 1 Doncaster Blvd., with possibly people still in the building.
A woman was pulled from the house and firefighters performed CPR.
Niagara EMS paramedics took over when they arrived, and the victim was resuscitated before she was transported to hospital.
St. Catharines Fire Chief Dave Upper said due to the serious nature of the injuries the Ontario Fire Marshals Office was called.
An early damage estimate says the damages are in the $300,000 range.
