The Ontario government is urging residents to take precautions against tick bites and reduce the risk of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses as temperatures rise.
Lyme disease is a serious infection caused by bites from infected blacklegged ticks, also known as deer ticks.
Symptoms include fever, headache, joint and muscle pain, fatigue, and a circular rash resembling a bulls-eye.
