As expected, the solar eclipse is attracting people from far and wide.
Jerry is from Philippines, and has found himself in Niagara Falls to view the 2024 eclipse. He joined Chris Lukas live-on-location at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort this morning, and says he was at a work conference in Pittsburgh, but knew he had to be here for the eclipse.
While not his first time in Canada, Jerry says this is his third visit, and first in 20 years. He originally planned to just come and visit family in Mississauga, before hearing that the eclipse was happening.
Jenny and Dave from Colorado, who missed the last eclipse in their area, found their way to Niagara Falls for the eclipse as well.
It wasn’t all visitors that went to Niagara Falls today, as many locals were out and about in the thick of the action enjoying the celestial event. Charlie from Niagara Falls says it was cool to see such a big crowd embark on the city.
Hundreds of thousands of people visited Niagara Falls today for the solar eclipse, from locals making their way across the region, or tourists from the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.
