The Welland Jackfish kick off their 2024 season tomorrow, and once again plan on being fans-first.
President and Director of Fun Ryan Harrison says there were a couple of big projects over the winter that’ll make the experience better for anybody attending.
As part of their exhibition schedule, the Jackfish battled the Hamilton Cardinals at Welland Stadium – which included over 2200 students from across the Niagara region in attendance.
Harrison adds that it’s important to make it more of an experience than a baseball game, as he feels it’ll appeal to more people whether or not they’re a fan of the sport.
The team has dubbed 2024 as ‘The Year of the FINatic’, as Harrison says they’re going to crank the dial up a notch for the fan experience.
He adds that at times, baseball may not be the most exciting sport, so it’s important to make sure there’s an appeal for everyone.
The regular-season schedule is a total of 42 games with 21 of those coming at Welland Stadium. The 2024 campaign will feature home games at Welland Stadium on 9 Thursdays, 10 Saturdays, 1 Sunday and 1 Monday throughout the summer.
