The City of St. Catharines is removing all coin-operated single-space parking meters and replacing them with HONK pay-by-phone zones, pay-and-display multi-space meters, and two-hour parking restrictions.
The move addresses the unavailability of replacement parts, high coin-handling costs, and frequent vandalism.
Residential parking permits will also be available in time-limited areas.
