Pumpkinville
The City of St. Catharines is set to celebrate fall with free family activities at the 31st annual Pumpkinville.
The City’s longest-running free family event takes place Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm, 650 Read Rd. Hay diving, face painting, crafts, games, and more highlight this year’s Pumpkinville.
The first 500 families will receive a free pumpkin to use to enter the pumpkin carving contests. Carving tools will be supplied. Judging begins at 1 p.m.
Stakes, straw and clothing will also be available at the scarecrow building station. Families are encouraged to bring their own old clothing and other accessories to give their scarecrow creations a little more style.
Admission to Pumpkinville is free. Some activities, such as pony rides, food and beverages, include a small fee.
Parking is limited at Happy Rolph’s. However, free parking will be available at select nearby businesses. Signs will indicate which parking lots are available. A free park-and-ride shuttle bus service from the Grantham Lions Club, located at 732 Niagara St., to Happy Rolph's will also be available from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Pumpkinville also offers a last chance to visit the farm animals of Happy Rolph’s. The animals return to their homes in mid-October.
