A Canadian program in Niagara that reviews sexual assault cases is set to lose federal funding by the end of the month.
The Violence Against Women Advocate Case Review project, led by Sunny Marriner, brings together experts and advocates to review police sexual assault investigations that don’t result in charges.
The program, started in 2016, operates in over two dozen communities but lacks sustainable funding beyond March 31st.
