The Welland Jackfish welcomed school students to their game yesterday, and gave them plenty to cheer about.
As part of their exhibition schedule, the Jackfish battled the Hamilton Cardinals yesterday at Welland Stadium – which included over 2200 students from across the Niagara region in attendance.
The Jackfish would go on to defeat the Cardinals 9-2, with Welland’s own Ryan Potrecz leading the way batting 3-for-4 on the day with two RBI.
The Jackfish are in Hamilton tomorrow for another exhibition game with the Cardinals, which will serve as Hamilton’s School Day Game.
They open the regular season on May 17th against the London Major in London, before returning back to Welland for their home opener on May 18th against the Barrie Baycats.
