The first baby born in the Niagara Region arrived at the Marotta Family Hospital at 12:28am New Year’s Day.
Clark Forma weighed in at 9 pounds, 12 ounces, much to the delight of his parents Kimberly and Nick and older brother Killian. Kimberly was due on New Year’s Eve, but went into Labour on the 30th, before being induced on Tuesday afternoon.
Kimberly and Nick, who are from Welland, were presented with a trophy from the nurses on the Women’s and Babies Unit and a gift basket from the Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop to mark Clark’s arrival.
In total, three babies were born at Niagara Health by 1pm on New Year’s Day.
