As the Buffalo Bills get set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship, one Bills legend is feeling good about this weekend’s matchup.
Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas, who spent 12 seasons with the Bills and won an MVP with the team, says something about this year gives him a different feeling.
In recent years, the Chiefs have defeated the Bills twice in AFC Divisional playoff games, and once in the AFC Championship game in 2020.
The Bills defeated the Chiefs earlier this season to end their hopes of an undefeated season. The scene for Sunday however is much different – the game will be played in Kansas City instead of Buffalo, and with much colder temperatures.
Thurman says this is when you as players have to show up and give your best, because the fanbase deserves it.
The Bills are no stranger to the Super Bowl in their history, having infamously lost four in a row in the 1990s – Buffalo teams that included Thomas.
The Today Show is hosting a rally at Buffalo City Hall this morning ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship, which kicks off at 6:30pm. Sunday from 4:00pm until kickoff, we’re hosting the Giant Bills Tailgate Show on 91.7 Giant FM, hosted by Matt Latour and The Great Brandoon, which will include more from Thurman, as well as experts that cover the Buffalo Bills throughout the year.
