Animal shelters see it every year – an influx of rabbits coming to the door in the weeks following Easter.
We spoke with Cathie Hoskin, the owner of an animal shelter in southern Ontario, who absolutely loves rabbits and sees the value they can bring to a family – but those families must also be prepared for things like wires that will be chewed and messes that will be made.
The bedding, the cage, the food, and the time are also big factors to consider with this animal that can live up to 12 years.
She suggests families do their research before introducing a bunny into their house to make sure it will be it’s forever home.
